Parenting is a massive challenge! Toolbox parenting sessions are supportive, giving you the tools to build a happier, more harmonious family . Learn about parenting types, developmental stages, tools for engaging cooperation, building self-esteem, creating traditions and memories, boundaries, plus all the questions that YOU have.
Small group courses are offered, with six sessions per course. Each course is tailored to the child’s age – 0-6 years, 6-12 years and 13-18 years – and to your needs. There is also a “Building Awesome Whanau” course for parents/caregivers of children aged 0-12. There is also a DVD/manual based course for grandparents raising grandchildren.
IBPC has facilitators for “The Early Years” (0-6) sessions and “The Middle Years” (6-12) sessions. Courses are held each term at the Island Bay Community Centre. You can find out more on the Toolbox website: www.theparentingplace.com.
