• Heads up to start cleaning out your houses over summer - on 11th Feb 2012 we will be having a garage sale to kick start the Island Bay festival week. Then on 18th Feb we will be hosting the Kids Gear Bargain Sale in the hall and holding an IBPC cafe/bake sale in the lounges. All baking, preserves, edible goodies will be welcome!

• Welcome to the second of our Art / Music services for 2012. These are more
informal worship gatherings, where different members of our community are
invited to share how God speaks or has spoken to them through the arts - be
it music, painting or poetry etc... Today, "William Blake and Occupy Wall St ".

The IBPC Weekend Getaway!
Instead of a camp, this year we're having a more informal getaway with an
optional timetable at The Magnificat Community, Featherston, March 9-11,
flyers available. Costs are rising for everyone including the church, but
money is no barrier and we will do some fundraising - so, people are
welcome to pay as they are able. Hence on the flyer we lay out the actual cost
for the weekend as well as a suggested subsidy, but these are only a guide.
There will be some optional input sessions over the weekend. These will
include Helen relating her experiences on the 40 days walking the Santiago de
compostella; Angela will share some wisdom from her work at the soup
kitchen in how do deal with difficult and aggressive personailties; Amber will
teach how to use the Lutheran rosary as an aid to prayer; and Jill will share
about her 2 week silent retreat in Australia over summer.

Sunday Club's Stained Glass Christmas Cards

We have sent a cheque for $546.00 to Christchurch Cathedral, the proceeds
from sales of the Sunday Club's stained glass Christmas cards. In response,
the Cathedral's Development and Marketing Manager Craig Dixon said:
"What a fantastic outcome. Well done. Please pass on our gratitude to all who
worked on this project."
Our thanks to all those who bought cards (more than 500 cards were sold in
total) and to the Sunday Club children (Ollie, Tom, Hana, Toby, Lexi and
Roma) and Little Lights toddlers (Seb, Anwyn and Lily in particular) who
worked on the card designs and our beautiful stained glass windows.
