Staff

 As well as a minister, IBPC employs two staff members

 Administrator:
 Our Church Adminstrator is Irene McLachlan, she is in the office most afternoons from about 4.00pm till 5.00pm. If you have any booking queries, she is the person to talk to either by phone or email.    Irene is married to Bernard McLachlan and has been attending IBPC for nearly 30 years. She has three sons who are also part of our community.

 

 Children and Families Worker:
 Our "Chifam" worker as of mid-2009 is Melanie Heaphy. Born and bred in Island Bay, Mel was baptised as a child at IBPC, and is the 4th generation of her family to worship here. She has also recently become a mother herself.
 Mel's role has a mid-week rather than a Sunday morning focus, and is intended to primarily work with pre-schoolers. She is available to pastorally care for the children and their parents who are part of our community, as well as creating a new community that is spiritually focused but open to all. Through this position IBPC hopes to give parents who don't actively attend church a place where their child can get some Christian input and grow to be aware of and marvel at the spiritual nature of the world around us.
