Children from 4 to 12 years are catered for during the Sunday service in our Sunday Club.
Our younger pre-schoolers and their care-givers gather in the foyer for our Little Lights toddler church. This involves heading out after the kid's talk for a reading, a prayer, and some kind of activity.
• Limited edition Christmas cards designed by our Kids' Club and Little Lights children are now available to purchase.
This term, our children and toddlers have been learning about the art (and purpose) of stained glass. As part of their learning, the children have designed the most amazing Christmas cards, in a stained glass style.
Because Christmas is a season for giving (and this is an ecumenical initiative), we will be donating the proceeds of sales towards the rebuild of Christchurch Cathedral in memory of their priceless stained glass windows, now lost to history. Our special thanks to Ross Jones from Island Bay Baptist Church, and also to Island Bay's McCormick Design and Milne Print, for their willing offers of expertise, advice and assistance with this special project.
For younger children and during the school holidays when there is no Sunday Club, there are toys at the back of the church, and also in the foyer in the blue box. The foyer is wired for sound, so any parents who wish to take young children out there for a break can still listen in to whats going on! There is also a heater for winter - just switch it on when you head out there. We also have a safety door gate which can be put in place during the service to stop the little adventurers from going outside for added peace of mind, this can be found behind the couch on the street side of the foyer.
