Calling all youth, Year 7+
Hosted by the Church and run by our Youth Pastor Quentin, youth group is a chance for the young people of Island Bay to hang out, catch up with friends who are at different schools, and have loads of fun and games in a safe and welcoming space.
This as an encouraging environment specially for young people aged 11 to 18 – school years 7-13. We’re about creating community and a safe and supportive environment for navigating life as a teenager. A usual Friday evening includes sport, games, space for chats, and a discussion about life and faith. Youth are invited to pick the topics to discuss.
We meet every second Friday evening from 7-9pm, at church, 88 The Parade.
Experienced leaders provide guidance, inspiration and supervision; all leaders are police checked and have to undergo Health and Safety training organised by the Presbyterian denomination.
We try to support our youth with the Duke of Edinburgh award by organising tramps and facilitating community service projects. During the year we also go on adventures like kayaking trips, bonfires at Princess Bay, scavenger hunts around town, movie nights and camps.
Come along, meet new people, catch up with old friends and hang out! All welcome.
